Here is the broad outline of the steps needed to bring the Maglaunch project from concept to completion.
Recruitment and review
The first step is a private awareness campaign targeting engineering firms, third level institutions and a variety of other interested parties and manufacturing contractors to establish relationships and recruit effective team members to help develop the Maglaunch program. At this stage the location and details of the generation zero launcher will also be brought forward.
Publicity and funding for generation zero prototype
Once the core team has been established, the Maglaunch program will be launched publicly, seeking crowdfunded resources to help build the generation zero prototype. The technological lessons that will be learned during this phase will be invaluable for the future development of the Maglaunch orbital system.
Location preparation, design and construction for generation zero launcher
Once funding has been completed, we will proceed to the construction of the generation zero Maglaunch system in accordance with the blueprints developed in step one. After all parts are manufactured and assembled, we will hold a live ceremony for the first launches from the Maglaunch system.
First commercial launches from generation zero Maglauncher
The generation zero Maglaunch system will be opened to markets such as nanosatellite and miniature payload orbital systems to create commercial returns for the system.
First round of investment and partnerships
After the feasability and viability of the Maglaunch system have been successfully demonstrated, we will open it up for investment and partnership offers from public and private parties. The incredible potential of the Maglaunch system will at this stage have been realised, which will help in getting finance to construct a full scale generation one model.
Groundwork for generation one model
The full technical groundwork for a generation one model Maglaunch system will be laid down, including a finalised location, architectural and engineering plans, and manufacturing and industrial partnerships. Full scale recruitment for the generation one cargo launcher will also take place after investment has been secured.
Construction of generation one model Maglauncher
The construction of the generation one orbital cargo launch system will take place, a large undertaking which will span the best part of a decade. Upon completion, the development of near-earth and deep space resources will finally be within reach at an affordable price.
Consolidation into productive corporate structure
The generation one orbital cargo launch system will take cargo from groups such as telecoms companies, power companies interested in orbital microwave satellites, orbital habitats and space resorts and space agencies who want to construct orbital infrastructure. At this point the shape of the entire space industry is changed and the solar system is open for exploration and growth. It will take time for space industries to fully mature but the process will see a constantly growing demand for both skilled workers and materials which will have a beneficial effect on terrestrial economies.
Groundwork for generation two human-rated Maglauncher
The fully human-rated Maglaunch system represented by the generation two launcher will be an expansion on the technology of the generation one program, essentially the same but on a much larger scale. It will also need a wider base of expertise and a great deal of legislative and civil research to ensure that construction can proceed without hindrance.
Construction of generation two model Maglauncher
The final phase of the Maglaunch program will be the construction of the generation two Maglaunch system, human-rated and enabling millions of people to travel to space every year. It will take an estimated twenty years to complete, which is time that space based industries and destinations can use to grow and develop. At this point there should not only be orbital and lunar holiday resorts but a wide variety of skilled opportunities available in space. This will be the ultimate step allowing mankind to finally reach space.
